The Friday Footscray Friendly happens every Friday from 3pm, out front of St John’s Church, on Paisley Street (across from the Footscray Library).
There’s free food, and different free services and supports each week. This week we had the Melbourne Youth Bus, who are going to try and come every fortnight.
Footscray people getting together, supporting each other, and building solidarity and community.
As St John’s Father Nigel Pope put it:
“We have to be present in hard places, that’s where change happens … from below, from the margins. Friendship is a quiet, revolutionary act.”
