Footscray residents and community and religious organisations have met to discuss how we can respond to the social issues impacting on our community. We are hoping to build a coalition of community organisations and residents who can promote and develop responses that are based on inclusion and solidarity. We oppose the use of policing as a means of dealing with homelessness, poverty, mental health and social disconnection. There are many community organisations already doing their bit. We hope to help amplify these efforts and support new initiatives.
