Data Centre Moratorium Wiki

·

This Wiki is a community resource intended to support local organising for a moratorium on data centres and as a tool to coordinate the wider campaign.

Details on specific data centre sites can be hard to access. People are doing amazing work to investigate planning, zoning, emissions and technical specifications of data centres built or being planned in Victoria. The Wiki is a place to bring together well-referenced research on individual data centres, as a resource for campaigners.

The Wiki has a few dedicated sections:

Data Centre Tracker: a dynamic map from which pages about individual data centre sites are accessed. These pages can be updated by community members with technical data and planning/construction status as we learn more.

Resources: a collection of general resources to build the necessary knowledge to oppose data centres. Topics may include: specific information about data centres, general information about risks associated with data centres, and email templates for local MP engagement.

Events: crowd-sourced calendar that tracks events of interest for the broader movement. Using it, the community can keep up with local organising meetings, educational webinars and rallies.

In addition, local campaign groups can request a dedicated section within the wiki. The dedicated section is set up with public and private views. Private views might be used for minutes of meetings that only campaign members should see for privacy reasons. Public views can be used for dates, flyers, results of FOI requests etc specific to the campaign that would be a benefit to the wider community. Campaign sections are entirely managed by a nominated coordinators, and supported by the Wiki administrators.

Like all wiki sites (like Wikipedia), the site relies on the collaborative generation of content. Hence the need for some community guidelines.

If you want to submit content for the wiki, please request an account by emailing info@datacentremoratorium.net.
